The Rediscovery of My Old Blog
It is 4 o'clock in the morning and I couldn't sleep. I have started a 10-year reading plan through The Great Books of the Western World and initially I began perusing the internet for people who may have formed some kind of reading group but only found several outdated discussion forums where no one has posted in quite some time. This led me to think maybe I should just write my essays and post them on a blog, not for anyone else, but principally for my own processing of the material I am reading. Blogging was something that I did and abandoned many years ago. I was writing for an audience then. I could care less about that now. I am simply looking for a nice anonymous outlet for my thinking. I went to Blogger to sign in and to my surprise all of the content of my old blog remains...that was easy!
So much has changed since I originally began this blog 18 years ago. It seems like a lifetime has passed. Five daughters and 6 grandkids as of this year; the passing of both of my parents; career changes; and the attainment of my master's and PhD degrees. These just barely begin to scratch the surface of the major shifts in my life.
So, I cleared off the old widgets and changed the formatting of this blog to something neat, clean, and far more generic. Then, I set a short-cut up on my navigation bar to get back here. This will be a great place to post my essays, thoughts, and inter-musings of ideas that I am vetting for my own pleasure and outlet. It remains to be seen if I can stay consistent, or it will be another 18 years for my next post?
